Parking space dispute gets ugly; 2 hurt and car torched

Two people were injured and a car set ablaze in Bahadurabad on Monday night in a clash triggered by a dispute over parking space. The incident took place at Sirajuddin Daula Road, where the owner of a boutique located there ordered his guard to open fire at the residents of nearby apartments as they were embroiled in a heated argument with him over the ownership of parking space outside the shop. Two people were injured in firing, followed which the residents of the area staged a violent protest, setting a car on fire and also trying to torch the boutique. The police reached the spot and had to baton-charged the protesters to disperse them. The Gulshan-e-Iqbal Division SP said the owner of the boutique has been taken into custody and police are trying to settle the dispute between the two parties.
