Defence and political analysts on Tuesday denounced Interior Minister Rehman Malik’s briefing on Benazir Bhutto murder case in teh Sindh Assembly as “a bundle of contradictions”.
Renowned defence analyst Ikram Sehgal said Malik’s briefing was in itself a contradiction, considering that Malik took no action against the very Interior Ministry/ intelligence team that refused VIP security for Benazir, and it continued to serve for two years under Malik’s authority. Sehgal also expressed deep mystification over grant of job extension to former interior secretary Kamal Shah by Malik, despite Shah’s failure to protect Benazir.
Another noted analyst Mujeebur Rehman Shami was stunned by Malik’s portrayal of Baitullah Mehsud’s connivance with then president Pervez Musharraf in Benazir’s murder, wondering how would Malik prove his point in a court of law.
Senior journalist and analyst, Arif Nizami said Malik’s briefing was “incomplete”, and said it was a vain effort by the PPP to pacify the voters as the general elections were drawing near. Dr Hassan Askari said the government still had to do a lot regarding the investigations into the case.

  1. Worst thing is that these topi drama gangsters continue their (twisted) circus while looting the wealth of the nation – what’s left of it!! Holding such useless sessions of the Parliament(s), provide further means for the humongous wastage of the tax payers’ valuable money! Shame & hypocrisy galore!

  2. @senrehmanmalik just spoke shit, they are trying to get the same sympathay that lead them in to the govt i.e SMBB 's blood and preparing for next elections. Definitely its an ill statement to held Musharraf responsible for BB's murder. RM was security responisble for BB not Musharraf being President. But i support this act to bring back Mush with the help of interpole for all other crime he did (Lal Masgid Killing,Missing persons, Bugti murder, saking CJ , impsoing emergency etc) he should be brough to court of law. Zardari should also be asked by SC about his confession of knowing the BB 's killers.

  3. this shameless and shady character is the worst Pakistan has to show.

    @Zain Kalam ·
    Rehman Malik..Why would anyone Listen to him!!! arghhh!

    indeed!

  4. This man can't be believed. Whatever ha has said will never be translated into action. Most of the time he fires mindless chatter. Musharraf must be arrested but does any one in the present government has courage to bring Mush to the dock. This man is a MQM man and he will never take a serious action against Musharraf after all Musharraf was nicknamed as 'sector in-charge of MQM Islamabad. When first attempt was made near Karsaz in Karachi the street lights were switched off briefly and right at that time explosion occurred resulting in loss of scores of lives. Don't forget that Karachi was under the tight grip of spoiled brat of MQM Mustafa Kamal.After the murder of BB squads were dispatched to the scene of the crime and the area was hosed off clean. Musharraf has to answer that.

  5. Rehman Malik is the liar of highest order! His talk has no credibility! See his track record and its a shame to call him human. Mushrraf is no angel either but coming this from Malik … hard to believe.

  6. Malik ignores the core principle in this investigation, that is, who benefited most from BB,'s murder.He should also ponder on who gained most from her brother's murder in Karachi.After all he was not playing polo there..
    Verdict of public opinion is out now when Zardari's claim is out too that he knows who murder BB.It was most certainly neither Gillani nor Rehman Malik.
