The 17th International Road Cycle Race will be organized in a due course, said Idris Haider Khawaja, Secretary General Pakistan Cycling Federation.
He urther said that the International Tour de Pakistan Cycle Race has been registered last year in the calendar of UCI, the World Body of Cycling and they have promised to send a commissaire. “We are arranging to organization of the 17th International Tour De Pakistan Cycle Race. The dates and route of this race will be announced shortly. The complete programme of the race will be communicated to the affiliated units of the PCF, he added. He said that $10,000 cash prize will be given to the first six position holders of the race as per previous practice.
“Around three to four foreign teams will be invited for the prestigious event and we will not allow any parallel body to hold Tour de Pakistan. As per decision of the arbitration of Pakistan Olympic Association, the PCF headed by Ch. Nouraiz Shakoor Khan as President and Idris Haider Khawaja as Secretary is the genuine body to control and promote cycling in Pakistan,” he maintained.
