Independent Balochistan not US policy: embassy

The US embassy deputy chief of mission, Richard E Hoagland has once again disassociated the US government from a Congress resolution seeking independence of Balochistan by maintaining that such a resolution does not reflect the Obama administration’s policy. During interviews with Pakistani media on Sunday, Hoagland said the US administration respected Pakistan’s sovereignty. Reiterating the US State Department’s stance, he said Balochistan was an important issue but it did not form a part of the US foreign policy.
“We had taken up the human rights violation in the province with the Pakistan government. More than 4,000 resolutions/bills were presented in the Congress in a year but only 91 got approval,” he was quoted as saying. The spokesman said Washington respected Pakistan’s sovereignty as the province formed an integral part of the country. In a statement, US embassy spokesman Robert Raines said, “The United States respects the territorial integrity of Pakistan. Members of Congress introduce legislation on numerous foreign affairs topics and these bills do not in any way imply US government endorsement of any particular policy.”

  7. lol this is the.democratic system. it allows freedom to the scale that whatever a person feels strongly towards can be tabled as a bill and then DISCUSSED before being passed or rejected. relax, let them have an opinion and calm ur genitals.

  8. rather discussing abt US ties, kindly emphasize on the role of Pak Government…who has done rarely anything valuable for balochi ppl…..what happend to the Balochistan package that the Govt. had last year offered……….did it made BL. prosperous or further exaggerated…….

    • Bro. we all are suffering from this govt. and situation is worst in all over country. Each member of Balochistan assembly was given billions of rupees for the benefit of public but they increased only their bank balance with that not even 1 thousand was spent for public. No one has asked them about that coz if they ask them, they will loose candidate for election so its formula of this govt. "do corruption and share corruption" As a Pakistani its my opinion that all natural resources should be spent first in Balochistan and then elsewhere but for that that there should be leadership who think out of their personal interests.

  13. the double cross policy with the sincere freinds of U.S.A is beyond understanding.how cleverly and smartly american changes their policies.Shame to them.If Champion fo Democracy is playing naked and wrong games with its friends will cost to them sooner or later.no country will likke to extend hands of this opportuint country.Why do not solve the basic rights of Negros in washinton And New York,where they are living very miserable lives.
