The Sialkot Police have arrested top 10 proclaimed offenders (PO) and alleged killer Yasir Cheema alias Yasira from Daska, Sialkot District Police Office (DPO) Syed Ali Mohsin said on Monday. He was holding a press conference at his office. Mohsin said that Yasir was wanted by police in more than 100 cases of murder, kidnapping for ransom, extortion, robbery, murder-cum-robbery and other crimes.
The DPO said that Yasir was a “sign of terror”, as he had made the lives of people including traders, lawyers and even journalists miserable by demanding extortion money. Mohsin said that police arrested the accused from Daska on a tip off, after resistance, when Yasir was going to kill a trader for not giving him extortion money. He said that Yasir was staying in Dubai for the last six consecutive years on fake documents and under a fake name. The DPO said that Yasir was running his network in Pakistan, especially in Sialkot, while staying at Dubai.
