After a historic victory in the Asian Regional Space Settlement Design Competition (ARSSDC), a 14-member team of Lahore Grammar School will head to Johnson Space Centre, Houston, Texas in July for finals of the International Space Settlement Design Competition (ISSDC). The Lahore Grammar School won the 8th Annual Asian Regional Space Settlement Design Competition, the Asian leg of SSDC, held in Gurgaon, India on January 27. The team included Marium Rasheed, Shamin Bashir Shah, Khushbakht Baloch, Michelle Naeem, Habiba Hussain, Zahra Ahmed Khalid, Rida Shehram Sarwar, Faiza Tariq, Wajiha Ali Khan, Abeera Atif, Aliya Maryam Salman, Zoya Sarwar, Mariam Ijaz and Amna Irfan Tarar. “This year, the scenario was really different and challenging”, Marium Rasheed, director of the structural engineering department said. “We had to build a moving settlement named, Anconioh, on the surface of planet Mercury, staying within two longitude from the terminator.”
