Case registered against 10 cops

The Nishtar Colony Police registered a case against 10 cops, including a former SHO, for murdering a youth in a fake encounter in 2010. The accused SHO, along with ten others, raided the house of Allah Rakha on July 13, 2010 and constable Yaseen shot dead his son Sarfraz after an argument. Then Nishtar Colony SHO Munawar Dogar depicted the incident as an encounter. The victim’s father went to court, which directed police to register a case against the former SHO and others involved in the incident. Dogar has not been suspended yet, as he was serving as Data Darbar SHO. No arrests were made until filing of this report.
CASE: Separately, the Burki Police registered a case against 10 people for resisting arrest of a drug pusher. According to details, Sub-Inspector Riaz led a team and raided the house of alleged drug pusher Sahib for arrest of a proclaimed offender but Sahib’s relatives attacked police and got the accused released from police custody. Police claimed to have arrested Afzal after registering a case against 10 people. BODY RECOVERED: Also on Sunday, the Bhaati Gate Police recovered a 60-year-old man’s body. Police claimed that the man was an addict but died a naturally. The body was shifted to the morgue.
KIDNAPPED: Six people, including four girls were kidnapped from various parts of the city. 24-year-old Muhammad Ali was kidnapped from Gulberg, Roma Pervaiz from Gawalmandi, Saba from Shahdara, Samreen from Chung, Adnan Shah from Nishtar Colony and Ramzan was kidnapped from Nawab Town. Goods worth thousands of rupees were gutted when fire broke out due to short circuit in an optical factory in Lohari area. Separately, household items worth thousands of rupees were reduced to ashes when fire broke due to short circuit out in a house in Gulberg area. Fire fighters rushed to the sight and controlled it after hectic efforts.
