The Islamabad administration on Saturday imposed a seven-day entry ban on certain Difa-e-Pakistan Council leaders, including Jamaatud Dawa’s (JuD) Hafiz Saeed, Maulana Ahmed Ludhianvi and Abdul Razzaq Dhallu entering the capital.
According to an Express News report, the ban has been imposed to stop the leaders from attending the DPC’s February 20 gathering. Sources said the barred leaders will be arrested if they entered the capital.
Meanwhile the Aabpara Market traders’ community asked the DPC to refrain from staging a rally in Aabpara market.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik had had earlier suspended the Station House Officer (SHO) Margalla after police failed to stop the three from appearing at a Milad-un-Nabi gathering. A day earlier, the US State Department issued a press release raising concern over Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed’s public appearances, including at the Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) rally in Karachi.
