Accidental shot kills security guard

The security guard of a private steel mill was accidentally shot and killed at the Northern Bypass, the Iqbal Market police station said on Saturday.
The duty officer at the police station identified the victim as Ahsan, 24. The Iqbal Market SHO said Ahsan and another guard were giving training tips to each other. However, the gun of one of them went off and he died on the spot. The other security guard Wali Dad escaped. The police official said the victim was a resident of Yousuf Goth in Saeedabad.
Separately, a van driver was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Muhammad Nagar near Muhammadi mosque in Landhi.
The duty officer at the Sharafi Goth police station identified the victim as Malik Yasir, 25. He said the victim was resident of Qaddafi Town in Bhains Colony.
In another incident, a man was burnt to death in a fire that broke out at a workshop at the Yousuf Goth Road in Saeedabad. Saeedabad SHO said the fire broke out during the early hours of the day. The workshop was completely destroyed and the 24-year-old man sleeping in the workshop, identified as Wali, was killed in the incident.
