Police on Friday claimed to have arrested two American girls who were walking in the limits of Cantonment Police without necessary documents, but released them later after investigation. Police sources said the two American girls were arrested after they failed to prove their identity and were taken to a police station for questioning. During the enquiry, the girls told the police that they came here to participate in a game, which according to police information, was not organised in the area.
The cops asked them to show their identification but they refused to do so. Police then asked for any reference which could prove their identification. They told that they were staying at a church. Police contacted the church administration, which confirmed that the girls had visited Abbottabad to coach a women’s basketball team. The girls were then released.
