‘Karachi Amn Festival’ kicks off today

The ‘Karachi Amn Festival’ – to kick off Saturday (today) – would play an effective role in promoting parity, friendliness and unity in the city, said Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Municipal Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan.
Khan said this during a visiting to the Jheel Park, where the festival would formally kick off and where thousands of music lovers are expected to attend a special event.
The municipal commissioner said the festival is a joint effort of the Sindh government, the Karachi commissioner, the Arts Council of Pakistan-Karachi and the KMC, and such programmes portray to the world a soft image of the metropolis.
Khan also inspected the arrangements made for the festival at the Jheel Park and said, “Besides police officials, around 100 City Wardens of the KMC will be deputed on the occasion.”
East deputy commissioner, East Municipal Commissioner Shafiqur Rehman, Senior Health Services Director Dr Shaukat Zaman, Arts Council of Pakistan President Ahmed Shah, Secretary Ejaz Ahmed Farooqui and other officers were also accompanying Khan.
