Suicide bomber targets pro-govt militia leader

At least three persons were killed and four others were seriously injured in a suicide attack targeting the head of a pro-government militia in Upper Dir on Thursday morning. Reportedly, Malik Motabar Khan and his associates were having a jirga meeting when the bomber struck. Although the militia leader survived the attack, one of his sons was killed and another was injured in addition to five other jirga members.
Separately, five policemen were injured when militants targeted an armoured personnel carrier with an improvised explosive device (IED) at Sarband on Bara Road, Peshawar. Security officials said the injured policemen were out of danger and their condition was stable.
