CM announces establishment of Youth Skills Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Shahbaz Sharif has said the provincial government has decided to set up an autonomous institution, Youth Skills Punjab, for the technical training of the youth. The institution would impart modern training to the youth between the age of 16 to 30 years according to the market needs and Rs 250 million had been released for the project. This decision was taken in a high level meeting presided over by the CM which was also attended MPA Mian Nauman, Punjab Vocational Training Council chairman, Punjab Employees Opportunity Programme chief executive, Industries, Law, Finance and Planning and Development departments provincial secretaries and TEVTA chairman.
The CM said the Youth Skills Punjab would be set up on the pattern of Department for International Development (DFID), UK and will impart training on modern lines in different skills to the youth and deserving persons for their economic prosperity. He said provision of modern educational and training facilities was being ensured with the technical consultation and collaboration of brotherly country Turkey so that the youth could explore new avenues of progress through their knowledge and skill.
He said the board of directors of Youth Skills Punjab will comprise 15 members who would be selected from different sectors so that young generation could benefit from their experience. The CM would be the chairman of the institution. Earlier, Punjab Vocational Training Council Chairman Faisal Ijaz Khan gave a briefing regarding Youth Skills Punjab and highlighted its features.
