Doctors continued their strike for the fourth consecutive day on Thursday after their talks with the Punjab government went inconclusive.
Punjab’s Young Doctors Association (YDA) boycotted OPDs in different hospitals of the province, including the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) where adulterated medicines were provided to patients, unleashing the deadly drug reaction.
The doctors were protesting against removal of some seniors in PIC by the government which took the step in light of enquiry reports.
The Punjab administration seems to be helpless against protesting medics as patients and their attendants were worst hit of the standoff.
Young Doctors vowed to keep their protest on unless their demands were met.
