Cindy Crawford stops 10-year-old daughter’s modelling career

Cindy Crawford has put her 10-year-old daughter’s budding fashion career on hold despite the girl’s recent success in modelling. Kaia Gerber, the daughter of Crawford and Rande Gerber, posed last month in the first children’s modelling campaign for the the first Young Versace Campaign which just opened a store in Milan. But Crawford announced that her daughter won’t be appearing in any more campaigns for the next seven years: “At this point, she’s too young to pursue a career. There aren’t even a handful of jobs for a 10-year-old girl.” She does give Kaia the green light to follow in her footsteps later on in life: “But if she’s 17 and wants to try it, of course, what can I say?” Not much, considering Crawford was discovered at 16 years old. Kaia’s father, Rande Gerber, was also a model. Many people recognised Kaia’s striking resemblance to her mother and she received praise from Donatella Versace. “Like her mother,” Versace said, “Kaia has a very special gift. The camera really, really loves her.”
