At least eight alleged militants were killed and four arrested by security forces when militants attacked security forces during search operation in Wana, South Waziristan. Sources said security forces were conducting a search operation in Wana bazaar, when upon raiding a hotel militants opened fire and killed one security force member and injured three others. In retaliatory fire, eight militants were killed and four others arrested. Forces then demolished the hotel and six nearby shops. This was the first incident in Wana since March 2007, when militants and government signed a peace agreement.
