Delegation of police officers meets governor

A 26-member delegation of assistant superintendents of police (ASPs) met Punjab Governor Latif Khosa on Tuesday at Governor’s House. The delegation was headed by Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Asif Saifullah Piracha. The governor on this occasion said that the duty of every police officer was to protect the life and property of citizens. They should promote and preserve public peace ensuring that the rights of a person in custody were protected as provided by the law. They should make honesty and integrity their guiding principles while making decisions and should leave no stones unturned to provide relief to the people in distress, particularly to women and children, he added.
