Several doctors from the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) and Services Hospital protested on the Jail Road under the banner of the Young Doctors Association (YDA) on Monday. Nearly a hundred young doctors assembled from PIC and Services Hospital around 11am demanding restoration of senior doctors at PIC. The doctors, including females blocked both sides of jail road in front of the PIC for two hours.
They were holding banners inscribed with their demands of getting the dismissed doctors restored. They also demanded the “Punjab regime” to resign over the PIC drug death issue. This caused a lot of inconvenience to commuters who had to take alternative routes because Jail Road is the main artery connecting this part of the city to the canal and the Main Boulevard.
