Robbers stole cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs 20 million from a house of a retired superintendent of Industries Department in the Islampura police area on Sunday. Per details Muhammad Pervaiz, a resident of Islampura Area, had gone to attend a funeral of his relative along with his family when some thieves broke into his house and took valuables including gold ornaments weighing 250 tolas, six mobile phones and local and foreign currency worth about Rs 20 million.
ACCIDENT: A speeding bus knocked down and killed a 25-year-old young man in the Sundar Police area on Sunday. The deceased, yet to be identified, was crossing the main Multan Road near Loharan Wala Kho when a speeding bus knocked him down. Resultantly the young man sustained serious injuries whereas the bus driver managed to escape from the scene. .
BODIES FOUND: Four people were found dead from different areas of the city on Sunday.A body of 45-year-old unidentified man was found lying along Wandala Road in the Shahdara Police area, while a body of a 30-year-old man was found lying on Fatah Muhammad Road in the Gowalmandi Police precints. Similarly one Muhammad Bilal, a resident of Peshawar, was found dead outside General Hospital. Police reached the scene and removed the bodies to a morgue for autopsy. The police said the men were addicts and had died due to excessive use of drugs. Another 22-year-old youth’s bullet-ridden body was found from a drain in Chung area. The deceased was identified as Ismaeel of Munchanabad.
FIRE: Valuables worth thousands of rupees were reduced to ashes when fire erupted in a plastic manufacturing factory located in Manawan Police Area on Sunday. The police said the fire had erupted in a local plastic manufacturing factory located in Taij Garh Manawan owing to a short circuit. Fire gutted valuables including machinery and raw material worth thousands of rupees to ashes. Some locals informed rescue and fire brigade officials, who after reaching the scene extinguished fire.
