MQM chief Altaf Hussain said on Monday that the government should respect the judicial proceedings.
While showing regret over contempt of court charges against Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, he said that all the institutions of the state should avoid clash and contradiction while perceiving their jurisdiction.
He suggested the government to avoid any emotional reaction in the current and crucial situation as the country is already in grip of hard times.
Earlier, the prime minister was indicted for contempt by the country’s highest court on Monday. The PM pleaded not guilty to charges that could see him jailed for six months and disqualified from office.
