PPP to decide future course of action after 13th: Fahim

The PPP will decide the future course of action after the Supreme Court’s (SC) verdict on February 13, Federal Commerce Minister Makhdoom Amin Fahim said on Saturday. He was talking to journalists after inaugural ceremony of The India Show at Lahore Expo Centre.
Fahim said that in a democratic setup, political decisions were made quickly and every issue was resolved through deliberations. Talking about President Asif Ali Zardari, he said that the president had constitutional immunity. The minister said that parliament would complete its term and general elections would be held on time, adding that he had read in a newspaper that both the government and opposition would jointly decide about the a caretaker setup. The PPP leader said that the memo commission was working independently. “If Mansoor Ijaz’s statement is so much important, then he should come to Pakistan to record his statement,” he said. Fahim said that Indian PM Manmohan Singh had assured him that India would remove Pakistan’s reservations on the water issue by the agreed principles. The minister said that PM Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani was not being removed and the party leadership would decide about it.He said that Pakistan and India had been trading a number of products, adding that commerce secretaries of both countries had discussed each item and gave approval. “We need to discuss the negative list as well and every matter will be reviewed and considered carefully,” the PPP leader said.
