More Rangers to be deployed at Margalla Hills

In the wake of terror threats, the interior ministry on Sunday decided to enhance Rangers pickets at Margalla Hills.
Sources said that 25 pickets were already there and on Sunday Interior Ministry decided to deploy Rangers at 25 more points at the top of the hills. Sources said that police motorcycle riders would also perform security duties at the hills. They will be patrolling on different tracks particularly in the area of Jandola village, which is at the top of Sector E/9 and E/10, where air headquarters and other sensitive installation are situated.
It is relevant to note here that intelligence agencies warned the Islamabad police on Monday that terrorists might launch a missile attack on important city buildings from Margalla Hills in an attack similar to the hit in Kakul on the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) recently. The intelligence agencies got the information from terrorists arrested from Taxila for their alleged involvement in the attack on the PMA Kakul Academy. Later, police found two 6mm morter shells from Nilor. These shells were similar to that which used in PMA academy attack.
