KARACHI: After failing to secure a Pakistan People’s Party Senate ticket from Sindh, former federal minister for
finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh has decided not to accept the responsibility of adviser to prime minister offered to
him by the government. Sources close to Shaikh told Pakistan Today on Saturday that the financial wizard was disappointed by the decision of the committee formed to decide about PPP candidates for the Senate from Sindh.
The final list of the PPP candidates from Sindh does not include Shaikh’s name. The sources said the finance minister had now decided to turn down the advisory role offered by the government and leave for Dubai.
He is already at the top of the food chain. Why would he want to be a parasite?
His masters are elsewhere. As a last resort he has had his own man appointed as Finance Secretary. Parting kick?
Reply to Syed Nayyar Uddin…….who is more important ? AAZ, PM , Senate or Sheikh Sb…? why did the govt give in to Mr Sheikh`s pressure…? because of inherent weakness within these people & members of Senate….because of their continued corruption, wishful expenditure etc;etc; all of them are American stooge.
I salute PPP for their principled decision in not giving party Senate ticket to a stranger. The sooner this man (Abdul Hafeez Sheikh) exits the government the better it is for Pakistan. How can we forget Abdul Hafeez Sheikh saying Pakistan will not ask for debt waiver to it's lenders, despite the fact that President Asif Ali Zardari, The PM and the Senate of Pakistan made calls for waving off Pakistan's debt in lieu of it's sufferings due to participation in the war on terror.
