QAU student’s killer nabbed after 8 years

The city police on Saturday claimed to have arrested a proclaimed offender who had been on the run for the last eight years after assassinating a student of Quaid-e-Azam University.
Secretariat SHO Hakim Khan Inspector and his team arrested Nauman Akram son of Muhammad Akram, a resident of Rajanpur. According to the police, the accused along with his other accomplices had killed Rehman Azam Cheema in 2003 at Quaid-e-Azam University over a minor dispute. Another accused involved in the same case, Asif Mehmud, has already been arrested. Meanwhile, ASI Muneer Ahmed from Aabpara police station arrested Nauman Masih son of Ghafoor Mashih and recovered 18 bottles of liquor from him. Ramna police also nabbed an accused, Ajmal, for keeping 200 grams of hashish while Tarnol police apprehended Waheed Gul for keeping a 30-bore pistol and 450 grams of hashish.
ASI Muhammad Ishaq from Shehzad Town police station nabbed Sajid Mehmud for possessing five bottles of liquor and Sub Inspector Muhammad Ali from CIA police arrested Ali Zaman and Fazal Mehmud for having 350 grams of hashish.
