CEDR UK director presents to LHC judges

Centre of Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) UK Director Grahan Massie and CEDR Consultant Baria Ahmad gave a detailed presentation to Lahore High Court and District and Sessions judges at a local hotel on Friday. The programme was floated with the collaboration of International Finance Corporation (IFC) Islamabad. The presentation was on areas of Alternate Dispute Resolution, Mediation, Court-Annexed Mediation, Support and Ownership of High Court required in court annexed system, Framing Rules on ADR, Identification of cases for mediation, Case referrals and enforcements and return to the Court and Case Management-Data Collection. The IFC developed manual and guidelines on ADR were also distributed amongst the participant judges.
LHC CJ Justice Azmat Saeed has constituted a committee of two senior judges, Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Mansoor Ali Shah for deliberations and further developments. Lahore High Court is in the process of developing a Court Annexed ADR Centre. AD&SJ recruitment tests: Registrar Lahore High Court Sohail Nasir said all candidates for recruitment to the post of Additional District and Sessions Judge are informed that this time before Subjective Written Test an Objective Type Test (MCQs) through NTS shall be held on 11 February 2012 (Sunday). The roll number slips for objective type test shall be issued to the eligible candidates shortly.
