Ali Zafar is the ‘super star of tomorrow’

It was a proud moment for entire Pakistan last night when a once struggling-hotel-lobby-painter turned singer was officially declared the ‘Superstar of Tomorrow’ by Bollywood’s Stardust Awards for the year 2011-2012 for his film ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’. Ali Zafar, who reached the ceremony late because of a performance on the same day at the Kalagodha festival for the ‘London Paris New York’ soundtrack launch, was seen wearing an Ismail Farid outfit.
His Stardust award was received by Ali Abbas Zafar, director of ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’. He was nominated for Stardust Award in Superstar of Tomorrow category along with four other new actors including Jacky Bhagnani (‘F.A.L.T.U’), Chirag Paswan (‘Miley Naa Miley Hum’), Rana Daggubati (‘Dum Maro Dum’) and Prateik Babbar (‘Dhobi Gha’).This is yet another milestone achieved by Ali Zafar, the success story, who seemed extremely excited to have this award. “I wanted to share this news with all,” a smiling Zafar said. Stardust Awards are one of the most prestigious Hindi movie awards sponsored by the Stardust magazine. Some of the categories are decided by reader’s choice while others by jury. The award given to Ali Zafar in ‘Superstar of Tomorrow’ category falls in the latter category.
Ali Zafar debuted in Bollywood with ‘Tere Bin Laden’ for which he has been nominated in almost all the Bollywood awards in the category of best debut, but the Stardust award for is his first Bollywood win.
