The 8th State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor’s Cup Super Series Inter-bank Cricket Tournament will start from today (Saturday) here at three different venues of the city. Director Finance SBP Riaz Nazar Ali Chunara while addressing a press conference on Friday said the final of the event will be held on February 20 at the Bagh-e-Jinnah ground ad Governor State Bank of Pakistan Yaseen Akhtar will be the chief guest at the final match.
Director Finance SBP Riaz Nazar Ali Chunara on the occasion said that the players participating in the tournament belonged to different banks while the young cricketers were also hired by banks as per the rules and regulations.
“The tournament is continuation of the SBP Governor’s Cup held at five different regions including Karachi, Hyderabad, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi. The finalist teams of each region and previous year finalists are participating in the event,” he said.
Talking about SBP team performance in Quaid Trophy, he said: “The SBP team has recently participated in Quaid Trophy Division I and finished fourth in their appearance in the national prestigious event.”
