The three men arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for the murder of three lawyers were remanded by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC)-II on Thursday. Three lawyers were gunned down and a fourth wounded near the city courts on January 25 in what appeared to be a targeted sectarian attack. CID officials presented Taufique Ansari, Salahuddin and Maulana Muhammad Rashid, who are affiliated with the outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan, before ATC-II Judge Ghulam Mustafa Memon.
The officials requested remand of the accused men to continue their investigation, following which the court remanded the detainees until February 16. Another ATC judge Bashir Ahmed Khoso remanded until February 16 two men accused of killing a police officer on Shahrah-e-Faisal a day earlier.
