Sanctions imposed on Islamic Republic of Iran are totally baseless and unjust as officials of International Atomic Energy Agency, during their visits to Iran’s nuclear projects, found them in accordance with the terms and condition of Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and pursuing peaceful nuclear programme is the right of every country and all Muslim countries should play their role at the international level to support Iran’s point of view in this regard. This was stated by the Counsel General of Iran for Pakistan Muhammad Hussain Bani-al-Sa’adi while talking to the participants of a ceremony held at Avari Hotel to celebrate the 33rd anniversary of the Islamic revolution in Iran.
Provincial Minister for Zakat Usher Nadeem Kamran, a central leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khursheed Mehmood Kasuri, former Ameer Jamat-e-Islami Qazi Hussain Ahmed, Jamat-e-Islami General Secretary Liaqat Baloch and Pakistan Today Editor Arif Nizami attended the ceremony.
Iranian Counsel General further said that Pakistan is highly esteemed in Iran owing to which the Iranian Government contributed 100 million dollars for the rehabilitation of flood victims in Pakistan. He said that Iran was providing 100 megawatt electricity for Turbat, whereas talks for the provision of 1000 megawatt electricity to Quetta and 100 megawatt electricity to Gawadar had entered the final stages. He said that the project of installation of gas pipeline from Iran to Pakistan was also on the brink of completion.
Speaking on the occasion Khursheed Mehmood Kasuri said that few countries were mulling over attacking Iran but such endeavours would not only devastate Iran but the ramifications would engulf the entire region. He said that the US should not attack Iran as America would have to pay a heavy price in case of war.
Provincial Minister Nadeem Kamran said that the Pakistan-Iran relationship had spanned over dozens of years and that Iran had proved that nations must rely on their resources. Following Iran, the Punjab Government has also decided to rebuff all kinds of aid and to depend on it own resources.

  1. The current stand-off between the US-led countries and stand-alone, soon-to-be nuclear-armed state of Iran has occupied the attention of those who are keenly watching the developments taking place in the region. Some are even betting on a surprise Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear installations and are predicting a catastrophe of unimagined proportions. Iran’s persistent resistance suggests that Iran finds itself really capable to close the Strait of Hormuz for long and even creating a world of hurt for the U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet. Iran is generally relying on a build-up of anti-ship weapons called Sunburn missiles, which it has procured from Russia and China over the last decade. These are top-notch weapons developed by the Russians as a low-cost challenge to the expensive, tech-heavy weaponry of the U.S., and specifically the aircraft carrier task force. A conflict is going to be a huge test of a global-naval doctrine that Russia and China will watch with tremendous interest. Iran's mix of anti-ship missiles (Sunburns, Onyxs, home produced, etc) is unknown, but it is armed to the teeth with thousands of such weapons in its possession.
