The Kasur education executive district officer (EDO) has twice refused to receive a copy of a stay order issued by the Lahore High Court against the appointment of teachers in the district and the order has been eventually couriered to him. Per details, scores of effected candidates protested on February 3 outside the EDO office against the alleged violation of merit in the process for selecting secondary school educators (SSE). They were of the view that the Punjab Education Department had advertised posts of science teachers mentioning that only those candidates were eligible for the post of SSE (Bio-Chemistry) BPS-16 who had studied botany, zoology and chemistry in BSc and had a masters degree in biology or chemistry.
