JUI-F MPA Mufti Kafayatullah Khan expressed grave displeasure with the Mansehra administration for allegedly registering a fake FIR against him for killing a man during a clash between two religious sects. “I was an arbitrator between Deobandi and Barelvi sects in Mansehra, but I was implicated by the district administration and an FIR of murder was registered against me,” he said while talking to reporters at MPA’s hostel on Friday. Giving details of the incident that occurred in Mansehra between the Deobandi and Barelvi sects on February 5, the MPA said a year ago, such kind of tension had brewed between the two groups and he being an arbitrator made the two reconcile by giving a code of conduct to both opponents.
He said he had visited the area through which the procession of Barelvi sect had to pass on Rabiul Awwal 12 and found complete peace there in the morning. “But unfortunately, a tragic incident occurred on February 5 in which a person was killed and nine were injured.” He said the district administration registered an FIR against him by involving him in a fake case of section 302.
