Want to contest from Karachi: Atiqa Odho

Pakistan’s famous TV and film actress Atiqa Odho has said she wants to contest election from Karachi and she is still a member of All Pakistan Muslim Leagues, a political party headed by former military ruler Pervez Musharraf.
In an interview, the actress said she had not left the party and could not even think of joining any other party.
Odho said that although she wanted to participate in general elections but the final decision would be taken by the party leadership in this regard.
She said that former president Pervez Musharraf had led the country on the way of prosperity and if more time was given to him, Pakistan would have been a prosperous country. “Pakistan needs a true and an upright leader and Musharraf has the guts,” Odho said.
Replying a query regarding her new film, she said that she had signed an agreement to play a role in the film but shooting has been delayed due to some reasons. She said that she was leaving for Karachi where she had to complete some projects and would soon return to Lahore.
It is to mention here that Aitqa Odho had a key role in Musharraf-led party but disappeared from political scene after being caught carrying two bottles of imported wine in her luggage at the Benazir International Airport Islamabad while traveling to Karachi in June last year.
She was released by the authorities for her influence in power corridors but Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry took suo motu notice of the situation. Odho has been facing a case in a Rawalpindi court since last year.
