Lahore District Coordination Officer (DCO) Ahad Cheema said on Monday the shifting of the Lari Adda bus stands from Badami Bagh to Thokar Niaz Baig was in accordance with government policy and would reduce the pressure of traffic inside the city as well as damage to historical monuments such as Lahore Fort and Badshahi Mosque. The DCO said the Thokar Niaz Baig bus stands would provide modern transport facilities to transporters. He said the protests of transporters were unjustified because the existing bus stands were creating traffic problems, and called for an end to the protests.
