Another claim of ending outages proves wrong

Despite the government’s tall claims of ending outages, more than 25 percent of the city is facing load shedding with domestic users getting power from commercial feeders facing two to four hours of power cuts. According to LESCO estimates, more than 25 percent feeders were commercial and all domestic connections on these lines were facing outages. Sources said that residents of Shadman, Samanabad, Township, Green Town, Gulberg, Allama Iqbal Town, Ichchra, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Mozang, Johar Town and Shalimar area were facing load shedding. “Majority of the feeders in these areas are commercial and closed at 8pm to 10pm and all domestic users on these feeders are facing load shedding,” a LESCO official said, adding that although there was no load shedding for domestic users but they were suffering badly because of LESCO’s fault of providing connection to domestic users on commercial feeders.
Citizens asked that why LESCO was punishing them. “Is it my fault that LESCO has put my electricity connection on commercial feeders,” Samanabad resident Irfan Ahmed lamented. LESCO Additional Director Javed Khan confirmed that commercial feeders were closed while there was no load shedding for domestic users. LESCO will close 132KV grid station of Manga-Sarfraz Nagar for technical repairs today (Thursday) and power supply to Kot Radha Kishan, Lilyani, Khudian and Kasur would remain suspend from 8am to 3pm.
