AIOU announces admission for spring semester

Admission forms with required fees can be submitted at the nationwide branches of First Women Bank, Bank Alfalah, Allied Bank and the designated branches of National Bank of Pakistan and Habib Bank Ltd. Fees in shape of bank draft/pay order will not be accepted.
Director Admissions of the AIOU Syed Zia-ul-Hasnain announced this here the other day. He said the university had started its admissions for the spring semester, 2012, from Matric to MA/MSc level programmes. The admission forms and prospectuses for all programmes offered in spring 2012 semester could be obtained from the sale points at main campus, regional campuses and coordinating offices all over the country, he announced.
He further said that computerised admission forms had also been sent to all the students across the country. If any student did not receive the admission form so far, he/she should can the same from the AIOU website www.aiou.edu.pk or obtain the same from the nearest regional/co-ordination office of the university and deposit in any designated bank branch by putting roll/registration numbers and mobile number with fees till due date to avoid late fees charges, he added.
Meanwhile results of Matric, PTC, CT, ATTC and BEd programmes for the semester spring 2011 had also been declared. The result cards are being sent to the students by post at their given addresses. The results have also been placed at website of the university www.aiou.edu.pk.
Inauguration of AIOU study centre today: Senior Provincial Minister for Education and Literacy, Sindh, Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq will inaugurate the newly-established ‘Noor Model Study Center’ of the Allama Iqbal Open University at Umer Kot today (Friday) at 10:00 am. The inaugural ceremony will be broadcasted through video conference at regional center of Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, DG Khan and Islamabad. Chemistry and computer labs, two video conferencing systems, multi media project and internet like all state-of-the-art facilities have been provided in the study center.
Prof Dr Nazir Ahmed Sangi, AIOU vice chancellor, Director Regional Services Prof Dr Syed Abdul Siraj and Regional Director Hyderabad Inam Ullah Shaikh will also address the inaugural ceremony.
The Noor Model Study Center will combat poverty, unemployment and backwardness from the region by providing equal access of getting education from the grass root to higher level in various disciplines.
