Former Central Naib Amir JUI, Ex MNA and renowned religious scholar Maulana Abdul Ghani died in a road accident here on Wednesday. Another person was also killed and four were injured in the mishap, according to a private TV channel.
According to details, Maulana Abdul Ghani was going to Madrissa Darul Uloom Islamia By Pass road from his home today. AT College road his car collided with another car coming from opposite direction.
Maulana sustained serious injuries. He said taken to civil hospital but he died on the way. In the miahap, another man Naseer Ahmad also died while four passersby were also wounded. They also included two drivers.
Dead body of Maulana Ghani was shifted to Madrissa. His Namaz-e-Janaza was offered in the evening. It was attended among others by provincial ministers Maulana Abdul Wasay, Haji Nawaz Khan,Ainullah Shams, Engineer Zamrak Khan, MNA Haji Rozuddin and others. Leader of Opposition in Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Hydri could not attend funeral but he reached at his burial.
He was buried at Madrissa Darul Uloom Islamia. Funeral prayers were led by Maulvi Yusuf elder son of Maulana Ghani. In a brief speech Maulana Abdul Wasay paid tributes to the service of Maulana Abdul Ghani. Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Hydri said Maulana Ghani was beacon light of education and he led Afghan jihad.
