The leader of opposition in Punjab Assembly has been accused by an SNGPL engineer based in Faisalabad for harassment leading to his arrest after he had filed charges against illegal connection and non-payment of bills to a factory owned by gentleman.
Gas shortages are a reality and yet there is large scale theft by CNG pumps and factory owners, while federal government continues to grant waivers for more CNG stations across the country.
A high level judicial enquiry needs to be conducted to investigate charges filed by this SNGPL engineer, which cannot occur as long as this corporation is headed by cronies. It is important that these charges be investigated thoroughly; otherwise, no employee working in state corporations in the energy sector will dare to investigate against such thefts.
