Lahore District Coordination Officer (DCO) Ahad Cheema has issued orders to send the cases of 49 medical store owners to the drug courts. A meeting of the District Quality Control Board (QCB) was held in the DCO office under the chairmanship of District Officer Monitoring and Inspection Ameen Akbar Chopra in which the ‘challans’ of 75 medical store owners pertaining to expired medicines, unqualified persons, incomplete sales/purchase records, failure to cooperate with drug inspectors, unhygienic conditions, keeping medicines requiring refrigeration outside, were presented. After hearing the cases, the QCB issued orders to send the cases of 49 medical store owners to the drug courts, reopen nine medical stores, extend the sealing of eight stores, issue warnings to seven stores and to ask two medical store owners to appear on the next hearing.
