Mansoor Ijaz asks commission to record his statement abroad

Memo scandal’s central character Mansoor Ijaz has requested the judicial commission probing the controversy to appoint a commissioner to record his statement abroad. Akram Sheikh, counsel of the Pakistani-American businessman, on Tuesday submitted an application before the memo commission’s secretary in which Ijaz stated that he had cancelled his trip to Pakistan due to security threats. Ijaz said that a commissioner be appointed to record his statement in Dubai or London. Sheikh said his client was ready to come to Pakistan, but had changed his plan due to security reasons and wanted to record his statement abroad. The memo commission will resume hearing the case at the Islamabad High Court on Thursday (tomorrow).
