Inspector General of Police Islamabad Bani Amin Khan on Wednesday handed over Defense Saving Certificates (DSCs)of Rs 0.4 million to the kids of a cop of Islamabad Traffic Police who lost his life during duty at Godown Chowk in Sabzi Mandi police area. Head Constable Gul Rehman of Islamabad Traffic Police was performing duty at Godown Chowk on December 16, 2011. Meanwhile, he tried to repair a traffic signal for smooth flow of traffic but he electrocuted to death.
IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan handed over DSCs of worth Rs 0.4 million to the four kids and widow of deceased cop who called on them here at Central Police Office Islamabad. SSP (Traffic) Dr Moeen Masood was also present on the occasion. Gul Rehman hailing from village `Malsar’ in Abbottabad district had joined Islamabad police in 1987 and was presently serving at ITP. He left behind a widow, two sons – Danish Rehman and Tabish Rehman – and two daughters – Aarzo and Urooj. The IGP announced that elder son of the deceased cop Gul Rehman would be recruited in Islamabad police after special approval from concerned authorities.
