The Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal (PBM) will provide sponsorships to the orphan students studying at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) to enable them to be active and educated members of the society. This was stated by the Bait-ul-Mall Chairman Zumurad Khan while talking to NUML Rector Maj Gen (R) Masood Hasan on Wednesday at NUML. The PBM Chairman visited NUML to meet its rector and to discuss his plans for the future of his organisation. During the meeting, he said Pakistan was situated in a volatile geographical zone as a result of which, natural calamities and disaster continued to hit Pakistan in the form of floods, earthquakes and epidemics that had orphaned thousands of children. He stated that these children had detached themselves from society and that it was for this reason that the government had introduced different projects and programmes to bring these children back into main stream of life. He informed the rector that a Sports Gala will be being arranged at the National Sport Gymnasium in which 3000 children from Sweet Homes across Pakistan would participate and showcase their talent.
NUML students could volunteer their services for the event’s management. He added that PBM had already announced 100 scholarships for deserving NUML students. He stated that all orphan students at NUML would be offered scholarship on taking admission. Rector Hasan said the NUML administration and students would love to join hands with Bait-ul-Mall to further the mission of Sweet Homes. He also informed the chairman that NUML was holding a food and music gala where Bait-ul-Mall could put up its stall and launch an awareness campaign for NUML students.
