ASWJ sector in-charge gunned down

An activist of the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) was gunned down by unidentified assailants in Surjani Town on Wednesday.
Qari Asghar, the New Karachi Sector In-charge of the religious organistaion, was on his way home when two men on a motorcycle sprayed him with bullets.
The Surjani Town SHO said the victim died on the spot and his body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for postmortem.
The police official said the victim was ambushed near a petrol pump at Surjani Morr. The ASWJ spokesman told Pakistan Today that Asghar was their New Karachi Sector In-charge. “The ASWJ will hold a meeting and then announce its future course of action,” he added.
Security guard: A security guard accidentally shot himself near the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH). The New Town SHO said Bakht Ali, 30, was checking his rifle when it went off and he died on the spot. The victim worked as a security guard at a shop. The police official said the heirs took away his body from the JPMC.
Body found: The police said they found the body of a youth at Zia Morr in the SITE Area. The SITE-A head mohrrar said the body was hand-cuffed and bore torture marks. The identity of the body could not be ascertained and it was kept at the Edhi Morgue for identification, he added.
