Around 22 people were arrested and huge quantity of illegal weapons recovered in raids conducted by Pakistan Rangers and police in different parts of the city on Wednesday.
The Rangers in collaboration with police launched search operation and conducted snap checking in in Memon Goth in Gadap Town, Gulshan-e-Hadeed in Bin Qasim Town and Sakhia Goth in Malir Town and arrested 11 suspects. They also recovered illegal arms from their possession.
The Rangers spokesman said the arrested people were shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
Eleven other suspects were rounded up and illegal weapons recovered from their possession in two operations conducted by the police. A search operation was launched at Rabia City in Gulistan-e-Jauhar under the supervision of SSP Khadim Hussain Rind. Six suspects were arrested. Unidentified men fired aerial gunshots in the area to protest the arrests and also forced shops and markets to shut down.
The second police operation was conducted at the Super Market area in Sohrab Goth under the supervision of Sohrab Goth SP Malik Altaf. Four suspects were held and arms recovered from their possession.
