Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday said the trio of President Asif Ali Zardari, PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif and JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman was destroying the country politically and economically.
Accusing the government of corruption and bad performance, Imran said the friendly opposition role by the PML-N had aided the rulers in their nefarious designs. “Nawaz Sharif kept on trying to save the system, while Fazlur Rehman was engaged in protecting Islam but both of them provided strength to President Zardari,” he said while addressing a press conference. He said that no one amassed more wealth in the name of Islam than the JUI-F chief. He termed the ‘alliance’ of Zardari, Nawaz and Fazl “unholy”.
He said Nawaz had backtracked from his stance on memogate after pressure from foreign powers, adding that that secret deals were being made with the government to pass the 20th Amendment.
