After a 15 year struggle, Pakistan has been selected as a member of the Afro-Asian Rural Development Organisation (AARDO). In a conference held in Cairo this month, Pakistan was selected as a member of the AARDO Executive Committee. It was also decided that an AARDO Rural Development office will also be set up in Pakistan. Professional and Technical Training Federal Secretary Qamar Zaman represented Pakistan at the conference. It is pertinent to mention here that AADRO offices work under its policies to implement its programmes in member countries for rural development. In this regard, the Federal Ministry for Professional and Technical Training is also working for rural development in Pakistan.
