Ministry to get govt flats vacated from PTCL workers

In order to provide government accommodation to the employees of various ministries, the Ministry of Housing and Works has started the proceedings to get vacated government flats allotted to the employees of T&T before its privatisation as PTCL.
β€œIt is a fact that some houses and flats of the ministry were allotted to the employees of various divisions and ministries after privatisation of PTCL and the eviction proceedings have started and enjectment notices are being served. The possession of said accommodation will be handed over to new allottees immediately after vacation,” this was informed by Federal Minister for Housing and Works Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat in his written reply submitted before the lawmakers in National Assembly the other day.
The minister further informed that 264 government employees have been allotted houses as per orders of the state minister for housing and works while 52 government employees have been allotted houses as per orders issued by him.
It was also informed in his reply that 2254 houses were allotted in relaxation of rules as well as on out of turn basis since March 2008 and all these allotments have been made as per orders of competent authority under rule 29-A of AAR-2002. He said 67 houses were allotted on merit during the said period.
