Masterly Moore stars for Master Paints

Gaston Moore earned Master Paints a comprehensive title victory with his classy ride against Bank Alfalah in the final of the Caanchi & Lugari Polo Cup 2012 on Sunday while Guard Rice secured third place in the tournament. Moore’s five goal earned Master Paints a 9-4 win against Bank Alfalah in which Sufi Muhammad Amir and Saqib Khan Khakwani were also very instrumental. Amir began the campaign with a solo effort and interestingly all the goals scored were either solo efforts or a combined move. So there were no goals on fouls.
In the subsidiary final, Guard Rice took full advantage of their one and half goal handicap to down Hataff Security 9½-7.
All the four riders of Guard Rice Raja Temur Nadeem, Taimur Ali Malik, Ahmed Ali Tiwana and Hamza Mawaz Khan worked together to get to the win while Vieri Antinoripayed a major role in Hataff’s efforts while Mir Shoaib Ahmad and Bilal Haye supported him.
Later chief guest Maj Gen (Retd) Muhammad Ali, Chief Executive Officer Punjab Livestock & Dairy Development Board, gave the prizes to the winning team and he matches were supervised by umpires Simon Mclaren Tosh, Santiago Mendivil, and James Harper and were referreed by James Harper and Vieri Antinori.
