BA urges Gilani to visit Quetta, allay concerns

The Balochistan Assembly (BA) on Monday adopted a resolution regarding killing of Baloch women in Karachi and demanded Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani to visit Quetta along with higher authorities of Sindh to remove apprehensions of Balochs amid accusations of some MPAs that intelligence agencies were involved in target killings, kidnapping and throwing of decomposed bodies of Balochs.
PML-Q MPA Jaffar Mandokhel chaired the session in absence of the speaker and deputy speaker. Balochistan Irrigation Minister Aslam Bezinjo tabled a resolution condemning the killing of MPA Bakthiar Domki, his wife and daughter. He said that the Balochistan government should convey the feelings of Balochs over the murder of Baloch women to President Asif Ali Zardari, Gilani and other authorities in Islamabad. He regretted that the Sindh government had failed to arrest Domki’s killers until now and praised the CJP for taking suo moto notice over the incident and ordering the Sindh IG to arrest the killers within four days.
Balochistan Quality Education Minister Jan Changezi suggested holding an all parties’ conference on law and order to give recommendations to improve the situation and present it to Gilani. Balochistan Agriculture Minister Asad Baloch condemned the intelligence agencies and security forces for their involvement in the deteriorating law and order in Balochistan and said that after receiving bullet-ridden stories of people, Baloch women were being targeted.
He criticised Interior Minister Rehman Malik for saying that Baloch women were being killed due to tribal disputes.
