The Lahore High Court on Monday issued bailable arrest warrants for Punjab Higher Education (PHE) Secretary Dr Ijaz Munir and Director Public Instruction (Colleges) Dr Jalil Tariq for not appearing in a contempt hearing. Justice Muhammad Khalid Mehmood Khan passed the order on a petition citing contempt. The appeal was filed by Deputy Director Colleges Muhammad Akram against Munir and Tariq for not promoting him despite court orders. The court had summoned both officers on Monday but they did not appear. Their arrest warrants were issued and the case is adjourned till February 8.
