KLS organises seminar on Literature and Society

A seminar on Literature and Society was organised by Kasur Literary Society at The Orient Education System Khara Road Kasur on Sunday.
The seminar was an initiative by the society to throw light on the relationship between society and literature. It also helped youth determine their role in the society following the literary values.
The participants at the seminar comprehensively discussed the topic and presented their viewpoints as well. They emphasised the creation and promotion of healthy literature for a positive and constructive change in the society.
They put forward their views regarding the prevailing stream of ignorance in the society particularly among youth due to growing influence of foreign cultures. It was also discussed that how these overwhelming negative trends could be ended and how the healthy literature could sink into the hearts of the youth so that they might drive their country on purely ethical and humanitarian grounds. Different suggestions regarding promotion of literary activities in the district, in the form of holding poetry recitation, speech and drama competitions, were also presented.
KLS President Ghulam Farid Zaigham highlighted different social aspects and linked them up with the creation of literature. General Secretary Kashif Shah, while performing the duties of stage secretary, threw light on society’s behavior towards literature. Information Secretary Sanwal Manzoor informed the audience about the KLS’s activities and sought their cooperation for further goals and achievements. Bhatti International Public School (BIPS) Kasur Headmaster Imran Shahnawaz told the listeners that the KLS was the need of the hour and added that it should be promoted. Poet and journalist Fraaz Mahmuud elaborated the importance of literary values while Government Islamia College Kasur Professor Syed Musaddiq Hussain Shah congratulated the KLS for arranging a constructive seminar.
